The Build Process

I work closely with you from the first conversation through to final delivery, and you work directly with me at every stage. From the initial discussion to the moment your dining table arrives at your door, I am hands on and involved throughout the entire build.

Initial Conversation

We begin by discussing your space, your goals for the table, and how it will be used in your home. This conversation allows us to align on design direction, expectations, and whether we are the right fit to move forward together.

Design Alignment and Quoting

Based on our discussion, I develop a clear design direction and detailed quote. Visual references and design guidance help ensure we are aligned before moving into the final design phase

Queue Holding Deposit

A $250 queue holding deposit secures your place in my build schedule and allows final details to be confirmed before materials are ordered and the build begins

Material Selection and Build

As your build window approaches, I personally select the hardwoods for your table and begin the build in my Calgary shop. Small refinements may occur during the build to ensure the best possible result. Any major changes are always discussed and approved.

Delivery or Shipping

Finished dining tables are delivered locally within the Calgary area or shipped across Canada and the United States in custom built, foam lined crates. All shipments are fully insured and packed carefully to ensure maximum protection during transit. When shipping is required, tables are often designed to come apart in key areas so they can be moved into their final location with ease and without unnecessary stress.

For local deliveries within Calgary and the surrounding area, we schedule a delivery date that works best for you. I personally transport your dining table, move it into its final position, assemble it if required, and ensure everything is properly set up. All packing and moving materials are removed, leaving your space clean and ready to enjoy your new dining table.

After Delivery

My involvement does not end once your dining table is delivered. I care about how the table is working in your space and how it becomes part of your daily life.

If questions come up or something does not feel quite right, I am always an email away. I am happy to help with care, maintenance, or adjustments over time. Your table is built to last, and my support is part of that commitment.

Once your build begins, most custom dining tables take approximately 2 to 4 weeks to complete. More complex designs or larger tables may require additional time to ensure everything is executed to the standard I expect to deliver.

I work on a build queue with a small, fluid waitlist. As projects are approved and deposits are received, they are added to the queue, and as tables are completed, clients move forward in order. Because every table is different, timelines can shift slightly. Some projects move ahead of schedule, while others may require additional time to ensure the table leaves the shop feeling complete, on brand, and exactly as intended.

This approach allows me to carefully select materials, execute precise joinery, and apply finishes that support years of everyday use. I work efficiently without rushing the process, and I keep you informed throughout so you always know where your project stands. My priority is delivering a table that feels right in your home, even if that means allowing a bit of flexibility in the timeline to get it there.
